Hosting and Accommodation Requirements
It is your responsibility as a host to welcome the student to your home and provide a safe and caring environment as another family member.
The host responsibilities also include familiarising the student with house rules, teaching the students some essential things they need to succeed like – how to buy transport tickets, how to navigate around town to get to departmental stores, the supermarket, and the chemist. You will also teach them how to use money and banking services.
Furthermore, the student’s requirements include bedroom, bed, desk, chair, study light, wardrobe, and enough kitchen drawer/cupboard space for up to 3 meals per day. Breakfast and lunch is usually self-served.
You are required to offer neat and clean living conditions in good condition and not a building that is under renovation. The room should be fully furnished, adequately finished and detailed with privacy. Own bathrooms are not a requirement and are at the discretion of the host whether a private bathroom is offered.
